Nadine Bauer worked with several other US/ICOMOS interns with the National Park Service's HABS/HAER program documenting historic covered wooden bridges in Vermont.  During the course of the internship, Nadine had the opportunity to participate in the First National Covered Bridge Conference at the University of Vermont in Burlington, make measured drawings of several covered bridges throughout the state, and convert these measured drawings to computer records and drawings.  Nadine's US/ICOMOS teammates include interns from England, Germany, Poland, and Romania  as well as HABS/HAER staff and team members from the United States.

"Before we started fieldwork, we joined the remarkable Covered Bridges Conference...in Burlington with a large number if interesting lectures by experts.  The early weekends we spent traveling through beautiful parts of Vermont, also sometimes visiting covered bridges or enjoy[ing] the beach of Lake Champlain."
