Grace Zhang worked with the Cultural Landscape Initiative of the National Park Service's National Capital Region. Her primary duties were documenting the landscape of Folger Park in Washington, DC's Southeast quadrant. The plan for the Nation's Capital laid out by Pierre L'Enfant included numerous "reservations" and parks formed by the intersection of major city streets. This network of parks, including the National Mall, the shores of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers, and Rock Creek Park, all fall under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service. The Cultural Landscape Initiative is responsible for documenting and preserving these unique green aspects of are nation's cultural heritage.
