2003 Elizabeth de Gaetano's conducted her internship with the Archaeological Sites Conservation Program at Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado. Specifically, Elizabeth worked with the Plaster Program, which is conducted jointly with the University of Pennsylvania and the Colorado Historical Society. The program aims to develop a system of detailed condition mapping and low impact stabilization methods to preserve the fragile surface finishes at Mesa Verde.
"Apart from learning about the documentation of plaster, I was also given insight as to how the National Park Service is set up and the way it works....I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity."
