"A good friend once said 'Conservation is all about putting smiles back in buildings and on people's faces.' After working with Cornerstones and the communities in New Mexico I could not agree more."
This internship was sponsored by Cornerstones Community Partnerships with additional support from private donors. Special thanks to Donna Vogel, Francisco Uvina, Jean Fulton, Jim Hare, and the rest of the staff at Cornerstones!
Isleta Pueblo Restoration, New Mexico
Cornerstones Community Partnerships is a long-term partner of the US/ICOMOS International Intern Program. In 2005, Deldan Angmo of India spent her internship documenting the church at Isleta Pueblo (just south of Albuquerque) during the early stages of restoration planning. She also assisted with conservation efforts for the rehabilitation of an historic building into a wine museum in Bernalillo County.
