"This internship was really helpful for me as an architect and preservationist. I've learned many things about the archaeological process, historical architecture, and I was able to look at one of the best examples of architecture and design in California."
Aleksandra Vadinska compiled a poster exhibit combining historical, archaeological, and architectural information on the first (mid-18th-century) fortification. Working within the archaeology lab, she reviewed previous research, made reconstruction perspective drawings of different early buildings of the Presidio, an archaeological plan of the early fort, and drawings of significant artifacts that have been uncovered. The final poster will be presented to the public in a display in the archaeology lab's new facilities.
