A chance to attend the National Preservation Conference

The Diversity Scholarship Program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation is accepting applications for the 2009 Diversity Scholars. Approximately 60 candidates will receive a scholarship to attend the National Preservation Conference taking place <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />October 13-17, 2009 in Nashville, Tennessee. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />


 


The deadline for submitting applications is June 15, 2009.


 


The goal of the Diversity Scholarship Program is to increase the diversity of participants at the annual National Preservation Conference and in the preservation movement. The stipend covers registration and hotel accommodations for award recipients. Ideal candidates are community leaders from diverse social, economic, racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Since 1992, the Scholarship Program has provided financial assistance to more than 1,100 individuals.
